The current collection includes:
– ca. 120.000 records (vinyl, CD, 78s, cassettes, tapes)
– ca. 8.000 books (biographies, systematic books, encyclopedias, diskographies)
– more than 160 periodicals (partly complete, some on microfilm)
– ca. 1.100 DVDs
– ca. 700 VHS-videos
– numerous files with magazine-clippings, manuscripts and various archival material
The total stock consists of the collections of the three founders of the archive, as well as of leases, donations, inheritances, etc. from various sources, i.a. the following persons:
- Dr. Ingolf Wachler (first jazz-producer at Radio Bremen) – vinyrecords, books, manuskripts
- Werner Voss (Rock’n’Roll-expert) – records, literature, memorabilia etc.
- Hans-Henning Rabe (music-journalist) – vinylrecords

- Raymond Pollex (private collector) – vinylrecords
- Günter R. Meier ( private collector ) – vinylrecords , CDs, DVDs, books
- Günter Ehnert (editor ‘Taurus-Press’) – clipping collection, lexical and discographic source material
